Meet the designer, the story so far....
Joanna Corteen.

Joanna has always had 2 main passions in life, one being Baking the other being Painting and Sculpture. From an early age, she could often be found in the kitchen, making cakes with her mum. Joanna is a talented artist, at A level she achieved one of the top 5 grades in Art and Design in the country, and then went on to study Jewellery Design at Middlesex University.

After leaving University, Jo often found herself making celebration cakes for friends and relatives. She then decided to take a course in Cake Icing and Sugarcraft at her local college and quickly found her niche. Jo has since gone on to study ABC Cake Decoration at Bournemouth College.

Jo landed job as a designer for one of the Country’s leading celebration cake manufacturers in 2007. Generic and licensed cakes designed by Jo were soon being sold in their thousands to the likes of Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Jo continued to make cakes for friends in her spare time word soon got around and commissions started to roll in. Setting up The Fairy Cakery in 2010, she can design cakes for any occasion, to meet your desires. From stylish wedding cakes to quirky birthday cakes, Jo is sure to create a delicious work of art for your special day.
